In the book, The Voyage of the Frog, I think the theme is face your problems. I say this because when David's uncle died David was sobbing constantly, but it didn't stop him from completing what his Uncle wanted. David's uncle wanted David to spread his ashes into the sea. David could  have been sobbing everyday instead of taking that mission from his uncle. The passing of Uncle Owen didn't influence David to give up and let his feelings knock him down. David took the mission and spread his uncle's ashes into the sea. Another example, is when David was lost three hundreds miles out into sea he didn't let that knock him down. He got up and faced his problem. David prepared a plan to drink only four cups of water each day and preserve food. David also faced some wildlife when he was out to sea. David encountered with a shark and a pod of killer whales. David didn't freak out and stopped sailing he moved on and ignored the animals. David was starving for days sleeping in a soggy bed that was very uncomfortable. Those are tough things to deal with since you are out at sea alone with no sign of civilization. David faced his problem and used what ever he had with him. David didn't give up on getting his ticket home. He took the hit and solved his problem. Now he got back home while also completing to spread his uncle's ashes. The theme if the book is to face you problem because David faced his problem when his uncle died and when he was stranded in the middle of the sea.

My favorite character in my book, The Voyage of the Frog, is David. I would like to know David because he has his own adventure that was very dangerous. At first, David had to spread his uncle's ashes out into the open sea, but he is challenged by a storm that washes him out three hundred miles into the sea. David had sailed a boat called The Frog and since the boat was a sailboat he needed wind to get the boat moving. David was out there by himself with no sign of civilization. There was no wind, low supply of food, and had a soaking bunk. If I known David then my life would be a quite interesting. David went through hunger, feelings of hopelessness, and wildlife experience. Being alone in the sea could be very scary especially like what David has been through with a shark almost biting his head off and whales/ killer whales that could possibly kill him. Another reason is to ask David what was that special bond he had with his Uncle Owen. David had a uncle who past away and every time a thought of memory of Uncle Owen made David sad or angry. Now there has to be some type of strong bond that these two had that made David break down constantly. Especially The Frog had to be something special to them. The constant flashbacks that David had of his Uncle were very memorable. The question to me is was this like any relative passing away or was it a sort of a bond that was like father and son. I would like to meet David because of his experience out in the sea with wildlife and feeling hopeless and to know about David's bond with his Uncle.

Favorite Character

My favorite character in literature is Tris from the book Divergent and Insurgent. Tris changed by first being this fragile and scared person to a strong and fearless one. In the beginning she was part of a faction called the Abnegation which was filled with kind and non-violent people. Tris was like that most of her life. When she moved to the Dauntless faction she was trained to be this strong person that should not be sacred to fight or shoot a gun. At the end of her initiation she became a fearless girl who had combat skills. Tris went from a girl that always followed the rules and stayed safe to a girl that rebelled and played it dangerous. Tris was influenced by all the actions around her that really changed her from this person to this person. Tris wanted to actually change because in the Abnegation she felt that this is not her true self and needs to move to another faction. Tris did not want to be this fragile girl that were always scared of things around her. For example, when Tris had to jump off the building to start her initiation at the Dauntless compound she took the challenge and became fearless. Tris jumped off a high building and did not get hurt. I believe that was the action that took her from being fearful to fearless. I think I can relate to Tris in a strong way by I was a shy kid when I was really young and I just was scared of everyone because I moved to Ellington from another town. I was shy and I only talked to answer the questions that the teacher asked. When I started to make friends by talking a little bit, I believed that my actions by talking to some other person lead me into from being a shy kid to an outgoing person that wants to hang out with a lot of people. Tris went from being fearful to fearless and that is how I can relate to her because there were actions that we took to become the person that we are now.

1) My favorite book is Insurgent by Veronica Roth because it is filled a lot of action and it is very suspenseful at many parts. The plot is also filled with drama between two characters and just wants you to keep reading for more.

2) My favorite genre of books is historical fiction, realistic fiction, science fiction, and fantasy.

3) The book I am currently reading is Maximum Security by Robert Muchamore. The main character so far in this book is James. James is a C.H.E.R.U.B and he has a little sister that just got out of one hundred day training and is now officially an agent. James has an assignment to escape from a prison called Arizona Max with a child of a suspect. James objectives are to become a friend of the suspect’s son and escape to California where the organization hopes that the suspect will be there to pick up her son. James has two partners. One is David who will be his protector and the other one is the getaway driver, which is his sister. They get in trouble and Dave is thrown into the hole for two days. As time went on James made a couple friends including the suspect’s son, Curtis Oxford, and his gang. Later on, the head of the organization asks if James wants to abandon the mission, but James turns them down. The next night James and Curtis escape with the help of his organization. The two meet up with James’s sister and they drive to California. The police stopped the team. James’s sister drops a couple of stun grenades and the team escapes. The three of them pull up to a yard full of trailers and hijack one trailer with a woman and her daughter in it. James figures out a plan that he will give the woman a ransom to drive the vehicle to California and decides to put one person in the trunk. James thinks the plan will work because they look like a regular family going for a road trip. Curtis offers to sit in the trunk and now the team is off. That is where I am now.
